The Albanian temple is located in the most beautiful part of Azerbaijan – the village of Kish in Sheki. According to ancient sources, this is the first church in the Caucasus. According to the history of the Albanian country, Saint Elisey, sent to the ancient Albania to preach Christianity, first served as a missionary in the provinces of Chola and Ooty, then came to a village called Gish and built a church there. Christian theologians say that this incident coincides with the 60th year of our era.
The place where the first Christian church was built in Caucasian Albania and even the entire South Caucasus is considered to be the village of Kish in Sheki. The church in the village of Kish is now known as the Saint Elisey church.
